Water-based adhesive refers to the general name of the adhesive which can dissolve the water-soluble polymer substance into an aqueous solution of appropriate concentration, or the insoluble polymer substance is dispersed into micro-particles (emulsion) in water by means of the action of surfactants. In simple terms, adhesives made of materials that can disperse or dissolve in water are water-based adhesives, and are often referred to as water-based adhesives.
Water-based adhesives can be divided into the following categories:
1. Aqueous solution type, such as starch or dextrin, cellulose and protein natural adhesives, polyvinyl alcohol, phenolic resin, urea formaldehyde resin, melamine resin and other synthetic adhesives;
2. Emulsion or water-dispersed type, such as PVAc, EVA emulsion, polyacrylate emulsion, epoxy resin emulsion, butadiene, nitrile, neoprene latex, polyurethane emulsion, etc.;
3. Water-based dispersion, such as water-based recycled rubber or butyl rubber.
Application field
Packaging industry: In China's flexible packaging industry, the proportion of water-based adhesives is still relatively high, and solvent-based adhesives have been used in the past, but solvent-based adhesives have serious organic solvent volatilization and residue problems, which not only pollute the environment, but also have a variety of health and safety hazards. In the green wind sweeping the entire packaging and printing industry today, the industry has turned its attention to more environmentally friendly water-based adhesives and solvent-free adhesives, especially for water-based adhesives.
Automotive industry: With the development of the automotive industry, the connection between automobiles and adhesives is becoming more and more close. Firstly, the problem of "three leaks" (air leakage, rain leakage, dust leakage) of the car is solved, and the comfort of the vehicle is improved. Secondly, it not only plays the role of heat insulation and vibration reduction, enhancing the automobile structure and interior and exterior decoration, but also simplifies the automobile manufacturing process, and plays an increasingly important role in the automobile energy saving, lightweight and extended service life. Therefore, the amount of adhesives in automobiles is increasing.
Shoe industry: With the pursuit of environmental protection and health and the requirements of environmental protection policies, oil-based adhesives contain a large number of volatile solvents, with heavy odor, sensitization, environmental pollution, toxic ingredients and other shortcomings, non-toxic, pollution-free, environmentally friendly adhesives in line with international standards are gradually becoming mainstream products. Water-based adhesive does not contain organic solvent, no pollution, is the main product to replace the traditional solvent-based adhesive.
