BOPP Film

BOPP Film

BOPP Film is produced by melting PP resin, extruding it into a thick amorphous sheet, and then stretching it 3-5 times in the machine direction (at 135-145℃) and 8-10 times in the transverse direction (at 155-165℃), followed by heat setting to fix the molecular structure. This precise manufacturing process differentiates BOPP Film from traditional cast PP film, endowing it with superior performance characteristics. Unlike PVC or PE films, BOPP Film is lightweight (density only 0.91 g/cm³), non-toxic, and 100% recyclable, complying with global environmental regulations such as EU PPWR. It can be further processed through corona treatment, coating, metallization, and other technologies to enhance its surface adhesion, barrier properties, and functionality, meeting the diverse needs of different industries.

Core Advantages

Exceptional Optical Performance

BOPP Film boasts outstanding transparency and glossiness, with a light transmittance of over 90% and a haze as low as 0.5% for high-clarity variants. This "glass-like" clarity allows consumers to directly see the product inside the packaging, enhancing shelf appeal and building brand trust-critical for food, cosmetics, and retail products. Matte BOPP Film, on the other hand, offers a premium, anti-glare finish, suitable for high-end packaging and labels.

Superior Mechanical Strength

The biaxial stretching process gives BOPP Film excellent tensile strength (up to 250 MPa), tear resistance, and stiffness-5-8 times stronger than non-oriented PP film. It can withstand high-speed packaging operations without tearing or deformation, reducing material waste during production. Its dimensional stability is also excellent, maintaining shape even in humid or temperature-fluctuating environments, ensuring consistent packaging quality.

Cost-Effective and Lightweight

BOPP Film has a low density (0.91 g/cm³), making it lighter than PET and PVC films. This reduces packaging weight, lowering transportation costs for businesses. Additionally, its high strength allows for thinner gauges (as thin as 3μm) while maintaining performance, further reducing material usage and production costs. Compared to PET film, BOPP Film is more affordable, making it ideal for large-volume packaging applications.

BOPP Film

Excellent Processability and Customization

BOPP Film is easy to process through corona treatment, metallization, coating, and printing. Corona treatment increases its surface tension (up to 42 dynes/cm), enabling excellent ink adhesion for high-quality, vivid printing-supporting gravure, flexography, and digital printing methods. It can be customized into various types (clear, matte, metallized, heat-sealable) and thicknesses, and can be laminated with CPP, PE, or aluminum foil to enhance barrier properties, meeting diverse industry needs.

Applications

Food Packaging: Snack wrappers, candy packaging, bakery overwraps, rice and pasta packaging, beverage labels

Adhesive Tapes: Packaging tape, industrial tape, decorative tape (backing material)

Label Printing: Pressure-sensitive labels, wrap-around labels, shrink sleeves, high-end product labels

Electronics: Capacitor medium (new energy vehicles, photovoltaic), electronic component packaging, protective films

Industrial Packaging: Heavy-duty goods packaging, carton overwraps, lamination films
