Instructions for Using Woodworking Adhesive

Wood Material Control

Ensure the moisture content is below 14%.

Maintain a flat joint surface without waves, bends, or twists.

For easily deformable wood (e.g., oak, catalpa), plane and joint on the same day or re-plane if left overnight.

Remove any wood dust or dirt from the joint surface before bonding.

Adhesive Mixing

Adjust the amount of adhesive based on the size of the container.

Use one-third of the volume for mixing to prevent foaming and overflow during the reaction.

Use a flat-bottomed, round plastic bucket for optimal mixing.

Do not add water or other substances to the adhesive, as it may affect curing or reduce strength.

Use the mixed adhesive within 12 hours for best results.

Adhesive Application

Adjust the amount of adhesive based on current temperature and humidity.

Apply less adhesive in low temperature, high humidity, and hard wood conditions.

Apply more adhesive in high temperature, low humidity, and soft wood conditions.

Application Method

Due to high viscosity, use a manual applicator, hog hair brush, or rubber spatula for even application.

Apply 150g-250g/m² of adhesive (hardwood: 120g-150g/m², softwood: 120g-250g/m²).

As the adhesive forms a film quickly, join the pieces promptly after application to prevent false bonding.

Pressure Application and Time

Maintain uniform pressure points 30-50cm apart.

Pressure time depends on temperature and humidity; 2-4 hours at 25°C and below 60% humidity.

Adjust pressure time based on working conditions.

Check During Pressing

Avoid wood strips pulling out; if it occurs, release pressure, reposition, and then apply pressure again.

Check for adhesive overflow; adjust application or pressing time if necessary.

Post-Pressure Curing Period

After pressure release, stack and cure the assembled pieces based on wood type and climate.

Recommended curing time: 3-5 days in low temperature, high humidity, and hard wood conditions; 1-2 days in high temperature, low humidity, and soft wood conditions.

Unused Adhesive Handling

Seal and store any unused adhesive for future use. Avoid prolonged exposure to air to prevent skinning.

Adhesive to Curing Agent Ratio: Adhesive:Curing Agent = 10:0.8~1 (by weight)
