What is Hot Melt Adhesive?
Hot melt adhesive (English name: Hot melt adhesive, referred to as HMA) is a kind of plastic adhesive, in a certain temperature range, its physical state changes with the change of temperature, while the chemical properties remain unchanged, its non-toxic and tasteless, is an environmentally friendly chemical product.
Non-reactive hot melt adhesive is based on thermoplastic resin with solid content of 100% and is solid at room temperature. When used, it is heated and melted into a liquid, coated on the surface of the bonded substrate, and the hot melt adhesive cures quickly with the decrease in temperature and exerts its bonding effect, the process is reversible.
Reactive hot melt adhesive is also a 100% solid, need to be heated and fused in the state of construction, after the completion of cooling and solidification bonding or pressure can be re-bonded an adhesive, reactive hot melt adhesive reaction is no longer reversible after the completion of the reaction. The common reaction modes of this kind of hot melt adhesive include thermal curing, wet curing and radiation curing.
Ingredients of hot melt adhesive
The composition of hot melt adhesive is composed of basic raw materials, tackifying resins, plasticizers, fillers, and other auxiliaries, of which the largest proportion is the basic raw materials.
